Punisher 2.6
Vlog Special

All the while I've been building the Wile E. Special for my Level 1 and 2 certification I've been considering "What's next?" I know I want to go supersonic and high with bigger motors. Bare cardboard won't hold up without slathering on a layer of fiberglass. That's a PITA rather than just starting with pure fiberglass components. A bit more expensive but I know I need to graduate to fiberglass rockets.

One of the vendors I focused on is Wildman Rocketry who has a lot of well respected fiberglass kits. One of the most popular designs is called the Punisher and comes in sizes from 2" to 6" diameter. So along comes a vlogger named Braden who's a real Punisher fan and convinces Wildman to make another size, a 2.6" diameter using a 54mm motor mount tube. That's just enough difference between the inner and outer tubes to allow the fins to mount "thru the wall" which adds a lot of strength. And then Wildman had to make a special package deal that included everything needed to build it including a tube of epoxy. Just add paint and motor. I was sold and ordered it with Wile E. still in work. I also ordered an adapter that will let me use the 38mm motor cases I bought for Wile E. in the 54mm mount

It's physically smaller than Wile E. but promises to be a virtually indestructible little guy that can go sonic and push the altitude waiver of the launch site. With the high altitudes possible it's going to subject to a lot of wind drift so I've already ordered tracking and dual deployment altimeters. I'm trying to hold off the build itself until Wile E. is flying.
