Cobbler's Kids

True to the proverb, I've been so involved with other web sites I have neglected my own. I am very active with both the American Navion Society and JLFC (a formation group.) I am the webmaster for both and have been setting up new web sites for both of them. You can see them here:

The big news since my last update is my RV-6 has flown! It's currently getting a condition inspection which is being delayed due to the horrendous heat this summer in Houston.

The Navion has had an electric/freon air conditioner installed along with a clear bubble Moonshadow canopy.

The Rearwin is the current active project. The cylinders are off its engine for a top overhaul. I need to find some parts and a Warner expert.

This week I became eligible to apply for the Inspection Authorization (IA) certificate to add to my A&P. It's hard to believe I've had the A&P for 3 years already. I need to get an application form signed by an FAA inspector to start the process. Then I'll likely go to Baker's in Nashville for their 1 week prep and test program.

And finally, I'm working on my Instrument rating. I've passed the written (again) and have been training with my buddy Dave. We held up because I had some avionics and buttonology issues to work out. I believe that's all resolved so as soon as the heat permits we'll do some more flying and get it done.

All the above deserve some embellishment and photos so consider this note just some cardboard to cover the hole in the shoe. I hope to get some proper shoes (updates) made soon.
